NHS Brighton & Hove CCG

A bespoke recruitment campaign to source and attract niche-skilled interim CHC Assessors.

The Situation

Brighton and Hove CCG had a requirement for a very niche skilled CHC Assessor and were struggling to source and attract the right expertise.

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of care which is provided to people with long-term health needs deemed eligible for funding by the NHS.

Clinical Commissioning Groups must arrange assessments for individuals who may be eligible for CHC. In order to provide these assessments, they require skilled CHC Assessors.

The Challenge

CHC Assessors are challenging to source on an interim basis, particularly outside of London. There are factors which affect the desirability of opportunities such as rate, IR35 status, location and lack of flexible working opportunities.

As a result, many CCGs were struggling to fill critical vacant positions.

The Solution

In order to build a suitable network of available candidates, we created a bespoke campaign to attract CHC Assessors with the specific skills needed.

This included the creation of a CHC networking group on LinkedIn, through which we built a community of like-minded professionals by sharing engaging and informative content, market-specific knowledge, industry updates and job posts.

Additionally, we advertised their roles on targeted healthcare specific job boards to increase candidate engagement in the right spheres.

This helped us to quickly identify the right candidates for Brighton and Hove’s unique job profiles.

The Results

Our campaign built a community of specialist CHC professionals whose preferred working arrangements are widely varied, providing more opportunity to fill vacant positions across the country.

We subsequently helped our client hire a CHC Assessor who has brought invaluable experience to the CCG.
